Is whole-body cryotherapy the same as the cryotherapy offered at skin clinics?

No. Skin clinics use a handheld device to freeze individual skin lesions. Whole-body cryotherapy is a short session standing in an electric cold chamber, used for recovery and general wellbeing.

Is cryotherapy better than an ice bath?

Accepted Answer

They are different experiences. An ice bath means 10–15 minutes in cold water. Our chamber uses dry, very cold air for about 3 minutes, so you stay dry and can get on with your day straight afterwards. Many people find it easier to do regularly, which is what matters most.

Cold usually makes my pain worse — is it suitable for me?

Dry cold feels very different from damp cold, and sessions start gently and are supervised throughout. You can stop at any time. If you have a health condition, book a free discovery session first so we can talk it through, and check with your GP if you are unsure.

Allow around 20 minutes in total. Time in the chamber is up to 3 minutes, with a short consultation and changing time before and after.
